Refund Policy
Effective 20 June 2026
This policy explains when refunds are available on the Yielde subscription platform, how to request one, and how long it takes. It forms part of, and must be read with, our Terms of Service (section 4) and Cancellation Policy. It applies to all subscriptions to the platform operated by Splice Computers (Pty) Ltd, trading as Yielde.
1. How billing works
Yielde is a subscription service. You pay a recurring plan fee, billed in advance each billing period in South African Rand (ZAR) through Paystack, plus credit-metered AI usage (large-language-model, AI Chat, and voice) billed on a pass-through basis. Your tenant is provisioned only after your first recurring invoice clears. This policy sits alongside the availability commitments and Service Credits in our Service Level Agreement.
2. Free trial: no charge
Plans start with a 7-day free trial and no card is required to begin. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. You are first billed only when the trial converts to a paid subscription.
3. Recurring subscription fees
3.1 Cancellation does not auto-refund the current period. You can cancel at any time (see the Cancellation Policy). Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing; the plan fee already paid for the current billing period is not refunded on a pro-rata basis, and you keep access until the end of that period, except where a refund is required by law (section 8) or by section 3.2 below.
3.2 Service failure. If the Service is materially unavailable and we do not restore it, your remedy for missed availability is the Service Credit mechanism in the SLA. Where we are unable to provide the core Service to you at all for a paid period, through no fault of yours, you are entitled to a refund of the plan fee for the affected period.
4. AI usage, credits and the R100 voucher
4.1 Consumed AI usage is non-refundable. Credit-metered usage of the LLM, AI Chat, and voice features that has already been consumed reflects real third-party cost we have incurred on your behalf and is non-refundable.
4.2 The R100 introductory voucher pre-loaded on activation is a once-off promotional credit. It is non-refundable, non-transferable, has no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for cash (Terms section 4.6).
4.3 Unused prepaid credit top-ups. Where you have separately pre-purchased a credit top-up that you have not yet consumed, you may request a refund of the unused balance on cancellation; consumed credits are not refundable.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@yielde.dev from the address on your account with:
- the name and business on the account, and the invoice or payment reference;
- the plan or charge the request relates to; and
- the reason for the request and, for a service-failure claim, the dates affected.
6. Refund timeline
Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Paystack within 7 to 14 business daysof approval. Your bank's settlement times may add a few days.
7. What is not refundable
- Plan fees for a billing period already elapsed (subject to sections 3.2 and 6).
- AI usage and credits already consumed.
- The R100 introductory voucher.
- Third-party costs paid on your behalf (for example domains or paid integrations).
8. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable law. Where the law gives you a stronger right than this policy, the law prevails.
